Celebrating milestones at a lengendary show

Legendary cows, legendary people, and the legendary tradeshow are the focus of this year's show. Yes, the tradeshow has been recognized as one of the best ag tradeshows in the world when it comes to size and quality. However, the companies that make up the tradeshow are legendary in and of themselves. For others, it's exciting to be a newcomer to the event. Dave Selner, executive director of the National Dairy Shrine, visited with us about the milestone that they reached this year. National Dairy Shrine turned 60 and its annual banquet was the perfect place to celebrate this momentous age. Beyond Expo, the group has been circulating larger-than-life birthday cards for the entire industry to sign for this organization that honors past leaders.

Another person we talked to, Danyel Hosto of Wisconsin, has attended Expo many times before and so has CRV (formerly Holland Genetics), the company she works for. But this year, they are celebrating a first-time milestone: They just started business in the U.S. on September 1. It was clear to us that, while attending this year's legendary World Dairy Expo, people were celebrating legendary milestones, too.
